This is the perpetual prayer of Islam and the foundation of the whole religion just as the Name of God is the expression of the Divine essence. As a formal practice it consists of repeating the Name (Allah) silently in the heart perpetually, dedicating every heartbeat to God. It is the simplest and the greatest of meditations. Sit quietly and hear the Name in your heart – Allah! Allah! Allah! Then hear the Name in your heart throughout your day, in the world, wherever you may be,at all times. The Dhikr is the journey to the oasis of the moment.
It is reported – and Allah knows best – that al-Junayd, a friend of God – may Allah be pleased with him – said, “A servant should overcome his soul, and be continuous in the remembrance of his Lord, establishing the rights of his Lord, focusing upon Him with his heart, the light of fear setting a blaze his heart, whilst drinking from the vessel of pure love, and certain hidden realities being unveiled for him. So when he talks, it is due to Allah, when he speaks, it is from Allah, when he moves, it is by the Command of Allah, and when he is serene, then it is from Allah. He belongs to Allah, is for Allah and is with Allah.”
Everything that exists, except Allah, the Creator, is created by Him. Allah has full power over every bit of His creation. Allah is not created; He existed always, having His attributes; He will never perish, nor will His attributes diminish. Among His attributes is that He has knowledge of all His creation, that He sees the seeable and that He hears the hearable, and His knowing, seeing and hearing are in no way similar to ours. Allah speaks and His Speech is not made up of language or sound, nor does it resemble the speech of man in any way. He does not need any of His creation for His existence and He does not resemble any of His creation in any way. This means that Allah is not a man or a woman; He is not “a Father” or “a Mother”. He does not have a wife, a mother, a father, a son, or a daughter; He has no equal or partner. Allah does not divide into parts; no creation, including man, has “a part of Allah” in him, nor can any creation become like Allah. He is the only God.
Allah existed eternally before He created any place, such as Paradise (Heaven), the skies, earth, or any planets. Hence, we know He is now as He was before He created all these places; He does not need any place to exist in. Allah has always known about every bit of His creation; there is no thing in His creation which escapes or defeats Him. No thing goes against the will of Allah. Both good and evil occur by His Will. However, Allah orders humans to do only the good; humans make the choice to obey or disobey Allah. Our ability to do good or evil is given to us by Allah, the Exalted.
And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah , if you should be truthful. (2:23)

Allah is the ally of those who believe. He brings them out from darknesses into the light. And those who disbelieve – their allies are Taghut. They take them out of the light into darknesses. Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide eternally therein. [2:257]
A boy called his mother. She replied “yes?”
After little while the son again called his mother. She replied in the same way.
After few minutes the son called his mother again. She replied “I have just now responded for ur call”
The boy again called his mother for the 4th time. Some irritation fell on the mother’s tone, she replied angrily “What?”
The child again called her mother. She replied angrily “Do not irritate me hereafter. I have alot of work”.
At the same time if we call Allah many times in a moment, He won’t be angry with us. Rather His mercy will increase on us. Allah says, “(O Muhammad), when My servants ask you about Me, tell them I am quite near; I hear and answer the call of the caller whenever he calls Me.” – (QURAN 2:186)
Also if the people call Allah in need, “Angels encompass them, mercy covers them, tranquility descends upon them, and Allah mentions them to those with Him.” – [Tirmidhi]
This is because Allah loves us more than 70 times A mother’s love for her child.
We have explained things for people in this Qur’an in diverse ways to make them understand the Message, yet most people obstinately persist in unbelief. [17:89]
The Prophet (Sallallähu alaihi wa sallam) said, “If anyone of you on having sexual relations with his wife said (and he must say it before starting) ‘In the name of Allah. O Allah! Protect us from Satan and also protect what you bestow upon us (i.e. the coming offspring) from Satan, and if it is destined that they should have a child then, Satan will never be able to harm that offspring.”
Once when he was seated near a grave, the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Every grave proclaims in the most horrific voice, ‘O progeny of Adam! Have you forgotten me? I am the house of loneliness. I am a strange land of wilderness! I am a hole of mites and worms. I am a place of hardship and trial, save those fortunate ones for whom Allah makes me commodious and wide. I am for all other human beings a tortuous place.’” In addition, the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “The grave is either one of the pits of Hell or a small flower garden out of the gardens of Paradise.” [Tabarani]
Given that a less rewarded person’s property in Jannah will be much more than all of the land on earth, a small flower garden might be as big as a small country such as Switzerland. This could be your grave. Alternatively, it could be one of the trenches from Hell filled with scorpions, snakes and fire. May Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) save us all from a bad end.
Take heed from the sight of the grave and concentrate your thoughts and imaginative powers on meditating life after death.
