Surah An-Nahl
No doubt, in the Hereafter, they will be the losers. [An-Nahl 16:109]
And those whose scales are light are the people who put themselves to ruin – the recompense of the injustice they used to do to Our signs.
[Aa`raf 7:9]
O you who have believed, if you fear Allah , He will grant you a criterion and will remove from you your misdeeds and forgive you. And Allah is the possessor of great bounty.
Surah Al-‘Anfāl (8:29)
The hardships that we suffer in life are means by which our sins are pardoned. These difficulties can take many forms, like sickness, financial misfortune, or the loss of loved ones. Through these trials, Allah grants us atonement for our sins and raises our spiritual status.
Allah tries those of His servants He deems best to test. Consider Job عليه السلام about whom Allah Almighty says:
وَأَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
(Remember) Job, when He cried to his Lord, “Truly distress has seized me, but You are the Most Merciful of those who are merciful.”
[Sūrah al-Anbiyā 21:83]
And those who say, “Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.”
[Surah Al-Furqan 25:74]
سُبْحَانَ اللّهِ – SubhanAllah (Glory be to Allah)
Whoever recites [the above] 100 times, 1,000 deeds are recorded for him or a 1,000 bad deeds are wiped away.
(Sahih Muslim; #4:2073)
