Prophets are the greatest men that ever lived. Prophets received Revelation from Allah and conveyed it to the people. The prophets received the Revelations and conveyed them exactly in the language Allah ordered. The language of the scriptures is created, but Allah’s speech is not. A messenger is a prophet who comes with abrogating some of the laws brought by the previous messenger or receives a new set of laws. Prophets were intelligent, trustworthy, truthful, did not commit major sins and never left their Religion. Many prophets have lived in the past. Muhammad, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, who lived some 1400 years ago, was the last and greatest prophet.

Other prophets before him include: Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, Jacob, Joseph (son of Jacob), David, Solomon, Moses, and Jesus, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon all of them.

The true scriptures were Revelations received by prophets. Moses and Jesus both received scriptures, but what are now called the Torah and the Bible have been tampered with by man and are not the true Revelations received by the great messengers Moses and Jesus. The only scripture which is unchanged and will never be changed is the Qur’an, which is the scripture Allah gave Muhammad, His last prophet, in clear and eloquent Arabic. Allah has promised to protect the Qur’an from any changes by man, and it has remained unchanged since it was received some 1400 years ago. Unlike the prophets before him who were sent to a particular people, Muhammad was sent to all people who lived at his time and all people who live after him until the Day of Judgment when the earth will be destroyed.

“(On that Day when the Trumpet shall be sounded) All faces shall be humbled before the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsisting Lord, and he who bears the burden of iniquity will have failed.
But whosoever does righteous works, being a believer, shall have no fear of suffering wrong or loss.” [20:111-112]

Hajar al-Aswad (The Black Stone), which is set in the eastern corner of the Ka’bah. Tawaf is started and ended by facing this sacred stone. Throughout the ages, innumerable people including many of the Prophets (alaihi al-salam), Prophet Muhammed (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) Himself, Sahabah’s (radi Allah anho), Pious personalities and millions of Muslims whom have performed Hajj and Umrah have placed their blessed lips on it.
1) Special consideration must be taken when one intends to kiss the Hajar al-Aswad. One should neither push others nor harm anyone and must remember even though it is Sunnah to kiss Hajar al-Aswad it is also forbidden (haram) to cause harm or be hurtful towards others. When the area is crowded, it will suffice to merely point towards the Hajar al-Aswad with ones hand or a stick while reciting the Takbeer and then to kiss the hand or stick. Although the Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) kissed the Hajar al-Aswad directly, He (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) also pointed towards it when the area was crowded, it is therefore clear that both kissing it and pointing towards it are Sunnah.
It is in Hadith – Narrated by Naafi’: I saw Ibn Umar touch the Stone with his hand then he kissed his hand. He (Ibn Umar) said, I have never ceased to do this since I saw the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon Him) do it. (Sahih Bukhari & Muslim).

2) The Hajar al-Aswad was brought from Jannah and presented to Ibrahim (alaihi al-salam) to be placed on the corner of the Ka’bah. Ibn ‘Abbas (aradi Allah anho) narrated that the Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “The Black Stone came down from Paradise. [Tirmidhi]

3) Du’as are accepted at the Hajar al-Aswad.

There is only one true Religion–that of believing the correct belief in Allah and His messengers, worshipping Allah only, loving, respecting, and following the prophet of the time, and loving and respecting other prophets. Every prophet and messenger followed and called people to the same Religion; this Religion is called ISLAM. A believer in Islam is called a MUSLIM. The meaning of Islam is “to submit to Allah”. The meaning of the word Muslim is “one who submits to Allah.” The name Allah is the name of the only true God. Although prophets and messengers spoke different languages, what they called people to was the same Religion. A person can declare that he believes and follows the true Religion–Islam–in any language, for belief is known to Allah regardless of the language. Those who say they are Muslim, yet deny the true belief in their heart, with their tongue, or by some actions, are surely not Muslim. Allah knows fully who are the ones who truly believe in Islam. Both messengers Moses and Jesus called their people to the true Religion–Islam–which is clearly described in the QUR’AN–the last and preserved scripture for all of mankind on earth.

We have established a well organized network of local youth groups that we call NeighborNets (which means network of neighbors) across the United States and Canada. Each NeighborNet is a dynamic youth group which attempts to build a solid understanding of the principles of Islam amongst its members by helping them put these principles into practice. By providing the youth with an Islamic atmosphere where they can form bonds of brotherhood with their peers, they become comfortable with Islam and its teachings. Eating halal food at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) is fairly easy thanks to the organizers who have really thought about satisfying the various needs of their projected 1.4 million attendees this year. Western Union donated CDN$10,000 to ICNA Relief Canada in support of the charity’s global education programs. ICNA Relief Canada is a division of Islamic Circle of North America Canada, a renowned non-profit organization that has supported community and social development in Canada since 1970. The gift in celebration of the Ramadan ‘Eid’ was presented at a ceremony held in Toronto on the 7th of August.

“Education support is one of the many reasons our customers use our services to send money to their loved ones, and we believe this kind of support is the best path toward a solid financial future,” said Don DeLair, vice president and general manager, Canada, Western Union. “On the eve of Eid this year, we are thrilled to support ICNA Relief Canada and hope these funds will help young people around the world realize their true academic potential.”
